Kefa brings onboard practical experience in Risk Management from Financial Services having he served in senior positions and sat in various Management and Board committees. He combines this with experience in advisory and training having carried out various assignments in Risk Management in Zambia, Kenya, Uganda, Rwanda, Tanzania, Somali, Ethiopia, Botswana, Eswatini, among others. His training includes Board level as well as operational training in Enterprise Risk Management, Credit Risk Management and Operational Risk Management. Within the Financial Services sector, he has trained Central Banks and other regulatory agencies, Development Finance Institutions, Commercial Banks, Microfinance Institutions, SACCOs, Public Sector bodies, manufacturing companies, service-organizations, etc.
Kefa is quite visible in the advancement of the profession of the Risk Management. He established the Kenyan Chapter of GARP (Global Association of Risk Professionals) and served as the first Regional Director of the chapter. As Regional Director, Kefa hosted a bi-monthly Risk Management forums and networking sessions where the Risk Management community discussed topical Risk Management issues
